About Mike Bursavich

Professional Photographer and Tour Guide

I’d like to introduce you to the natural world I know. Come follow along on my journey. Please explore, consider, and take something with you. This is nature through my eyes. These photographs do not arise from any particular desire to see the world through a lens, but rather from my deep passion for this land we call wilderness and nature. This is my way of enjoying and sharing my experiences with you.

I believe that experiencing the Earth’s beauty has the power to help nourish and unify us, both on a personal and global level. Through my photography I strive to translate these positive experiences into fine art. My goal is to contribute uplifting imagery to the world and hope my photographs help nurture a sense of hope and affection for the natural world. I believe that fine art photographs are a gateway to a larger perspective about ourselves and the universe we inhabit.

We are well into a new and exciting generation of photography that is incredibly more limitless than ever before. I embrace this new generation. The digital age allows us to overcome many of the technical challenges that confounded ways of communicating such experiences to you in the past. It is an exciting time to be a landscape photographer and above all, the best way I’ve found  to share what I love most, exploring wilderness and nature. My photography allows me  to capture a moment in time and share those captured moments with each of you.

Charleston Tour on The Horizon? 04.15.14

Have had several comments and emails with inquiries about the possibility of a future tour in the Charleston area this summer. I’m considering making a solo trip over the next few weeks to scout for interesting photo shoot opportunities in the area. Don’t be surprised if you suddenly see this as an addition to my “Guided Tour” page […]

GPS 03.09.14

A good GPS is critical when riding unknown mountain back roads to find new photography subjects… Old barns and structures can be found throughout the back roads of the mountains but you have to really get off the beaten path sometimes to find the best ones. At times I ride for hours before I find one that’s […]

Table Rock 03.08.14

Was a lazy day today. Took a ride in the mountains around Table Rock area.. Decided to go with just my Nikon P-7000 point & shoot camera. Was really surprised how sharp the images are. Functionality wise, this camera is somewhat limited but sure does amaze me with the image sharpness. Great to have in […]

Cades Cove – 03/01/14

Made a trip to Cades Cove this past weekend. Based on the conversation I had with the rangers a few days prior to making the trip, I went fully aware that there would not be much opportunity to photograph bear as I was told only one had been sited that entire week.  But I enjoy visiting the area and thought I would spend the weekend taking […]
